Miss Teen Tennessee USA 2009, Stormi Bree Henley won the coveted title of Miss Teens USA 2009 on Friday July 31st in Nassau, Bahamas. Following the pageant Friday night, Stormi told reporters via a telephone interview from the Atlantis Paradise Island resort, where the pageant had been held, that she was thrilled to win the title even though it had not quite sunk in yet. "I am waiting to wake up at any moment now. It's like it's a dream," she said. "I'm very excited. I guess God has a plan for me."
Stormi's parents Kip and Sissi Henley, were overjoyed with their daughter's success at winning the Miss Teens USA 2009 title. "We knew going into it she was beautiful inside and out," Stormi Henley's father, Kip, said when asked about his daughter's win. "Tonight she turned it up a notch. It's just unbelievable."
The Miss Teen Tennessee USA pageant is ran by Kim Greenwood, wife of country music star Lee Greenwood. She was thrilled to hear of Stormi Bree Henley's success at the Miss Teens USA pageant. Kim Greenwood also runs the Miss Teen Georgia USA pageants, whose current titleholder, Brooke Fletcher, took first runner-up at the Miss Teens USA pageant.
Miss Teens USA 2009, Stormi Bree Henley is a native of Crossville, Tennessee in Cumberland County. She is a recent graduate of Cumberland County High School where she enjoyed many hobbies. One of the hobbies in which Stormi participated, includes her father's passion, golf. Stormi is a talented golfer, who represented her high school at the regional golf competitions.
Following her graduation, Stormi planned to attend college and study graphic design in Nashville. However, she will postpone this plan for a year in order to fulfill her duties as Miss Teens USA 2009.
Saturday, following Stormi's win, she traveled off to New York for interviews and orientation and to learn more about her responsibilities in the upcoming year. While in New York, the new Miss Teens USA, Stormi Bree Henley, would visit the New York apartment, which she will be sharing with Mis USA 2009 and Mis Universe 2009 during the next year.
Several of the activities in which Stormi Henley will partake during her reign as Miss Teens USA, include participating in a professional photo shoot and making a number of public appearances with her sister titleholders, Mis USA 2009, Kristen Dalton, and Mis Universe, who will be crowned on August 23, 2009. Stormi will work with multiple organizations devoted to education and action, such as Best Buddies, D.A.R.E., Girl Talk, Sparrow Clubs, and Project Sunshine. She is looking forward to the year ahead and realizes that it is going to be a busy, but very exciting year.
